We typically complete these tasks with one or two team members and try to schedule them in 4-hour blocks. We understand sorting and rightsizing can be an emotional process, so keeping the time manageable helps manage overwhelming emotions. These services are offered with care and based on your desired needs, which we’ll discuss during the home consultation. We're here to support you every step of the way.
Depending on your needs, your Team Leader may visit about a week before the
move to ensure that sorting and prep work are on track. Alternatively, your Team Leader will arrive 30-60 minutes early on Pack Day to walk through and tour your home, creating an mutual understanding of what needs to be packed and what
needs left behind. We’ll mark items and furniture that are going
with blue painters’ tape to help identify them.
During this time, we’ll also gently remind you to think about the essentials
you’ll need in your “overnight bag” for your first night in your new home.
We're here to make this process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
We take great care in sourcing high-quality, professional-grade materials to ensure
your belongings are well-protected. Your Team Leader will guide the team
through their individual tasks and project goals.
From there, we’ll begin packing in a systematic way, focusing on the safety of your items. Delicate belongings, like antiques, artwork, and room décor, will be handled with extra attention, using attentive packing methods to ensure they’re protection.
We start by packing the non-essential items first, giving you time to make sure you
have everything you need before it’s packed away. Boxes is labeled where
it came from, it's moved location, and what’s inside. We also take the time to label shelving units and furniture drawers, so when it’s time to unpack, everything can be returned to its original space, making the transition smoother for you.
We're here to support you throughout the entire process, making
sure everything is handled with care and thoughtfulness.
On moving day, your Move Manager will meet the moving company at your home and provide loading instructions making sure the correct items are identified and loaded onto the truck. Maybe you have last-minute essentials that need packed,
we can help finish those last few boxes. The moving company will provide wardrobe boxes, allowing your hanging clothes to stay on their hangers and be moved safely.
Our team will make sure that bedding, lighting, toiletries, electronics, wardrobes,
and kitchen items like your coffee pot and perishables are packed last, so they’re
easy to access when you arrive at your new home. The refrigerator and freezer box
will be the last loaded onto the truck and the first unloaded, ensuring that your
food stays cold and fresh throughout the move.
We’re here to take the stress out of the process, ensuring everything is carefully
packed and thoughtfully handled every step of the way.
Once we have a better idea of when we’ll be arriving at your new home, we’ll reach
out to the rest of the transitions team to meet us there. We typically spend
the first hour unpacking kitchen boxes and starting to set things up so you can feel
at home right away. Then, we bring in your furniture and place it according to
the floor plan we’ve discussed.
Our team will carefully unpack your boxes and place items where they belong,
if we’ve already agreed on a location. For things that don’t have a specific spot yet, we’ll organize them in the most logical and efficient way possible. We always try to
mirror the original placement of items when we can, making it easier for you
to find everything and feel settled.
We’ll take extra care to make your bed and ensure that your electronics are plugged
in and ready for use. Our priority is to get your kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom set
up first, so your space is livable if we aren’t able to finish everything in one day.
If we need more time, we may return the following day to complete the unpacking.
We’re here to make sure you feel comfortable and at ease in your new home, and we’ll do everything we can to help the transition feel as smooth as possible.
